Parents are like Gods.We sometime differ from them. The main reason being needs of time changing.

Although I wouldn't say "parents are like God(s)", I do think that our outlook on life does have a lot to do with time changing. Growing up, I wasn't allowed to have a boyfriend, and I had more guy friends than girls. My dad didn't really like that, especially when I used to stay at the busstop after school hanging out. He used to say "What do you think the 'old people' are thinking when they see a girl hanging out with a bunch of boys?", and naturally, I just let it in one ear and out the other. If my parents found out I had a boyfriend, or liked a boy, my mom used to ask me "do you want to make the same mistakes I did?", and I remember I always replied "I'm NOT you, let me make my own mistakes!". lol... typical teenager huh? But through the years I have realized (finally!) that my parents were just looking out for me. Making sure that I had my mind straight, and wanted me to (of course) focus on school so I can have a positive future. I was as stubborn as they came, though I now realize, being married and a mother of two boys, I may not have the same rules or limitations for my kids that my parens had for me, but I do guide them as my parents did, to respect others with common courtesy and an open mind. Not just for those they're related to, or are friends with, but also for the old lady who can't carry all her groceries up to her apartment, for the kid at school who dropped their books because some other kid tripped or pushed them, for eachother as siblings and individuals, and for the person they bump into in a busy store or street. All we can do as parents is try our best to raise and teach our children what WE believe is the right way, but at the end of the day, I think we're all a little more like our parent than we realize. Have a great day & take care!
