Reviving an Interest catagory on MyLot

Ok, be honest. If you are a forums junkie, which you pretty much are if you are here. You use Mylot for grneral interest types of things, but gor your passions, you go elsewhere. For example you may have "sleeping" as an interest, because hey who doesn't like to sleep. And you may have actually posted something along the lines of "Hey what it the most you have ever slept?" or "Have you ever missed work while sleeping?" or responded to one of these. But if you are a sleep specialist, you have other places you go where the conversation is a little more elevated and discuss pro's and Con's of various sleeping pills, and brainwave function etc. Now wouldn't it be great if you could come here and have that same elevated discussion with people who actually knew the topic, and you could get paid for THAT. Anyway, that is my goal, because after 4 days of mylotting I need to either go back to topic specific sites or find a way to get interest groups here to be more meaningful and usefull than a bunch of topics like "Hey I have a bike, do you have a bikes?" So here is what I suggest. Find a topic that you go to other sites for. You know, something that you have a lot of knowledge about, and are more interested in than just wanting to post some posts to make some change. They go to the other sites that you use, and bring people with knowlege about those topics back. You will get some referal fees, but more importantly, once you get a critical mass in an interest, that interest topic becomes a usefull source of information. In my case, I have a passion for cycling, but if you look at the cycling page, and scroll down the first page of discussions, you are looking back at over 2 years of posts on the first page (thats how slow it is). So my pet project is to draw in cyclists so I can talk to them here. What is your passion? And what can you do to draw others like you in?

Yes I know what you are saying. It is hard to find posts of our interests quickly on here. Half the time people do not tag them, so they will not even show up until you write a similar discussion your self and post it. It is to slow as well. I posted up a few asthma discussions as I have been ill, and was looking for advice, and I am still waiting for an answer to one of them. I got no replys. I guess no one has asthma on here? Well your idea is very good. I will check it out. Thank you for this.
