He scored two goals this season already, which is excellent, considering he was out due to injuries. Michael Carrick possesses great composure on the ball, excellent accuracy in his passing and he's also intelligent with his decision-making. Don't you think Michael Carrick is England's best central midfielder? Honestly, Capello should consider putting Carrick in central midfield. He's one of the most under-rated players in England. I really do think he's so much better than Lampard, Gerrard or Barry. He's very good individually, and he brings so much in terms of team structure. His presence allows freedom for the attack-minded players to interchange positions. I think he's one of the most complete midfielders in the world, I really do. Plus, pairing up Lampard and Gerrard in central midfield just won't work, as they're both too similar. Alex Ferguson has proven over the years how important it is to have a balance of different types of players. Aggressive and composed, youth and experience, dribbler and passer, that's the key to Man Utd's success over the years, the balance.
