Man Utd beat Stoke City 5-0. Michael Carrick had an excellent game. His movement, passing and awareness is very good. He scored an excellent goal. He scored two goals this season already, which is excellent, considering he was out due to injuries. Michael Carrick possesses great composure on the ball, excellent accuracy in his passing and he's also intelligent with his decision-making. Don't you think Michael Carrick is England's best central midfielder? Honestly, Capello should consider putting Carrick in central midfield. He's one of the most under-rated players in England. I really do think he's so much better than Lampard, Gerrard or Barry. He's very good individually, and he brings so much in terms of team structure. His presence allows freedom for the attack-minded players to interchange positions. I think he's one of the most complete midfielders in the world, I really do. Plus, pairing up Lampard and Gerrard in central midfield just won't work, as they're both too similar. Alex Ferguson has proven over the years how important it is to have a balance of different types of players. Aggressive and composed, youth and experience, dribbler and passer, that's the key to Man Utd's success over the years, the balance. That's why I think England should have Carrick in central midfield, to compliment the other central midfielder. What are your thoughts on Michael Carrick? I'd like to know your comments.

I hope you don't mind but in my opinion,Carrick has a lot to improve to replace Paul Scholes, undoubtedly Scholes is one of the best midfielders United has produced.Carrick has got accuracy but I think he lacks vision.Hargreaves has got vision but he is not that good with the ball. You are right in saying that Carrick needs to play more like an attacking midfielder as it suits his style of play.Hargreaves is a defensive midfielder and also can play at right-back.This gives options to the manager.Anderson is the exciting new talent and can be there in midfield giving the team more attacking options. You are 100% correct in saying Carrick's potential is yet not fully tapped and needs greater exposure and encouragement because he can be great asset.I would like him to play for England as Gerrard and Lampard do not complement each other on the field.Hope Capello gets this idea and play Carrick in the starting line-up.

Yes, I agree with you on Paul Scholes. Paul Scholes is one of the most unique central midfielders in football. He, like Carrick, is also under-rated. Paul Scholes should have won a World Footballer of the Year at least once in his career, but he didn't.

I agree with you that Carrick is one of the under-rated player in England. I think that Sir Alex try to utilise him as move advanced midfield this season and that's why we saw him scored two goals already. Last season, he usually play as a Defensive Midfield so, the chance to score the goal was limited. He's intelligent and has a great composure. His passing is second to none and have a good creativity also. The best performance is Man Utd shirt for him, I think during the game against Roma last two season. I really miss to see that type of Carrick's goal again.

Yes, I noticed that. But the way he manages to advance forward, but at the same time, fulfilling his defensive responsibilities also, make him better than the likes of Gerrard and Lampard, in my opinion.
