Our Ungrateful Neighbor!! ARG!!

Our next door neighbor is a total @sshole. We had cleaned up some of his property so it wouldn't look such an eye sore for us because it's right beside our driveway. It's completely wooded, and not like he's using it but it looked awful so we cleaned it up and there was a pine tree that had fallen and he told us that he didn't burn pine trees in his fireplace because of the sap, it clogs up the shoot so hubby cut it up and dragged it over here, not far, to burn it in our fire pit and the jackass neighbor called hubby this morning and tried to chew him out for doing it and not asking before hand. Of course hubby wouldn't have it and fired back at him and this stupid @ss threw in his face about the fence which is a different story and it's been straightened out already but still he threw that in his face which pissed me right off right NOW! But you know, it's the same ole story of our lives. WE always get sh!t on. We try to help someone, we're the ones who pay for it EVERY DAMNED TIME Now about the fence, when we first moved here, we had a german shepherd, a beautiful gal and the best personality to boot too but she was stolen, so we had to have a fence put up so hubby only had a month to do it in and did it, he was still in the Army about to retire, the neighbor comes over and at the time it was close to when Jimmy had to go back to Arkansas and this jackass knew it and choose that time to tell hubby that he put the fence in his yard by an inch or two and wanted it moved but hubby didn't have time and promised he'd move it when he returned in 6 months, then when hubby left for Arkansas, the neighbor had came to me and told me that someone told him that when someone puts a fence up and it stays there for 20 years..... 20 years mind you!! that they can claim the property as theirs. I told him that hubby had said he'd move it when he got back and I told hubby about it and boy he was hot to trot!! He told me that he already told him that he'd move it when he got back and he will!! Then there's this tree that belongs to our neighbors but has huge branches hanging over our driveway and one was already broken off but was hanging over other branches. The jackass told me not to park under the tree because of the branch. I told him that I want it down because of my animals and myself as well as my car even though I have a rather large drive way still, that branch could come down on me when I go in or out or it could block me. He wouldn't hear of it and kept saying, it'll come down on it's own and bla bla bla. I told hubby about it and he called the jackass and told him he wanted it down or he'd come from Arkansas and take it down himself because he didn't want me to be in danger. It took several phone calls and then the threat of returning before he did finally take it down. Here now he's b!tching over the pine tree being taken out and says he was going to burn it. Well if that's the case, then why did he tell us he didn't burn pine trees because of the sap? I mean, which is it? This is the VERY reason why I want to move to a piece of property way back in the d@mned woods that nobody knows I live there unless they see my driveway or mailbox. I WONDER WHY?!?!

I do not see any reference to talking to him about what you would like to do. Did you ask him if it would be ok to cut up the tree that he was not going to burnt anyway? Did you ask him if it was ok to clean up his property. I know it sounds silly but perhaps he took your actions as an insult. People get use to their comfort zones and I would suspect he had no idea that the mess bothered anyone cause it was not bothering him. Would the circumstances been different if you would of ask if it was ok to clean his property and remove the tree? All in all however I suspect he would not be easy to get along with however you approached the situation.

Please calm down, don't let that creep run your blood pressure up. Your neighbor sound like mines. He is just as crazy as the one that lives next to you. I would not move and give him the satisfaction I would just stay there and bug the devil out of him. I am sorry you and your husband have to go through this with him.

I don't get it Chevee. I really don't. We were only trying to help clear out the eye sore. We weren't trying to alter his property but make it look nicer than it did and he got all bent out of shape over it. Oh and he had to bring back our house key too which told us that he didn't want anything else to do with us which is just fine by me. I hate people who are so ignorant and hot headed like he is and at the same time, he found out that we can be just like that too when we're faced with it and back down and got nicer about it. Damn idiots anyway!!

He sure does sound like an a$$hole, some people are just like that. I am so glad that I don't have anyone like that as neighbors. Just try to ignore him as much as possible.

They both are. She's a wimp who caters to his every whim and he's a jerk. I didn't like them from the get go because of how we met. They have a trail right beside our property and when we first moved here, we didn't know about the trail, heck, we didn't know anything about our neighbors and here were just pulled into the long driveway and were in the back yard getting our pets inside the house and these two with their "jackass dog" show up unannounced right at the corner of our house!! It liked to have scared the sh!t out of me and our german shepherd wanted a piece of them big time and hubby had a terrible time getting her into the house and shutting the door!! These two dumb @sses wouldn't leave even seeing the ruckus they caused and kept on coming closer and talking to us like we've known them for years!! I mean, we JUST got there!! Just signed the papers and pulled into the driveway and they showed up!! Finally I had to tell them that we just got here and have a ton of things to do in order to get them to leave!! I had to be up front and frank which I hate to be like that but they made me!! I can NOT stand people like them!! They get under my skin and just irritate the hell out of me!! How stupid can people be?! ARG!!

Consider yourself very luck whiteheather because we've had nightmare after nightmare when it comes to neighbors. We did have decent neighbors one time and only one time out of all our moves thanks to the Army life and I don't know why. We must have "STUPID" written all over our foreheads for they all have tried to do something or another one time or another only to find out that we can be @sses too when we need to be.

Hi Pinay.... I don't get it. I really don't. It's not like he can see the area that we cleaned up because it's further back into the woods behind his house and we only cleaned up about 20 feet inside his property, that's it!! It looks so much nicer now and even the wild animals can get around a bit easier in that little itty bitty space. Geeze, some neighbors just like being inconsiderate @sses but that's ok, I can be one too!!

I know how you feel. Neighbors can be so frustrating. Right now I own a mobile home in a mobile home park. Because I pay rent for the lot I am subject to park rules. My neighbor is constantly complaining about my dogs. Now mind you they are never out for more than a few minutes, never left unattended and rarely bark too. They complain because of the messes. We clean it up regularly each week, but these people seem to think we should be out their every day following the dogs around. I've gotten so fed up with it that its a big part of why we are moving soon. I'll have my own yard and no more landlords. I'll still clean up after the dogs, but at least I won't be "reported" weekly if it doesn't suit the old bat next door.

Some damned people don't have anything better to do with their lives than to make others lives miserable and that's exactly what this old hag has done to you and my "oh so perfect" neighbors are doing to us. It's not like we cleaned the whole woods that belongs to him, just about maybe 20 feet inside of his property. The way he acted yesterday, you'd think we did the whole world!! Good grief!! I really thought he'd be happy, what a surprise! Oh well. Can't win them all, can we?

Sometimes my yard looks like a junk heap.(Hubby's fault, mostly but not all) My nearest neighbor does not care, he brings in big equipment he can access from his job and he will trim up the trees for the entire block. We all help each other out, whoever is hauling stuff off will take for the others. That is except for the one corner. It is a rental property and the management lady worries more about messing with our stuff than about getting decent tenants in. I am gloating in the fact that they cannot seem to rent it out right now because she is a total b-----!! She has had people come on our property and cut our grapevines to the ground, for instance, because she does not like them and they are between us and the rent house. Part of the reason I planted them was to provide some screening from the raging drunken idiots and their undisciplined children that she often puts in the house. Way too many for a two bedroom. In ten years time we have had one set of good neighbors there.

SHE comes on your yard and cuts down your vines? Now that's a wee bit waaaay to far!! I could never ever do that!! This tree was already on the ground and part of it was standing, I'm thinking a lightening hit it but regardless, it was an eye sore and it was taken care of. Like this woman, our neighbor are jerks! They think they're better than everyone else but I've got news for them!

Bottom line it is his property and does not belong to you and you did not seek permission to "clean up" his land, nor remove anything from it. It is you who are trespassing. The branches over your driveway on the other hand are different as they are encroaching on your property so you have every right to complain.

It's people like you who are so narrow minded that makes everybody else's lives miserable. Learn to lighten up and take things gracefully and be grateful for the things people do for you and I promise, you'll have a much happier and healther life. So you say I'm suppose to just let lay and wait for a fire? In my case it would be fire number 6? Oh hell no, isn't going to happen. I will do everything in my power to keep that from happening. Besides, it's my husband and I who have to look at it, not our neighbor because he can't see it unless he walked the trail. My husband and I see it every day and it's an eye sore, meaning ugly to look at and it's dangerous.
