Our male cat - Sigil - has bad breath again. He has permanent sinus damage from when he was a baby and some kind of teeth problem from a flea bite. Last year we got his teeth cleaned and 1 tooth pulled; this year we had his teeth cleaned again. About a month ago his breath started to get funky and I checked his teeth/gums and nothing was wrong. I started buying the cat treats for "healthy teeth" and cut back on some different stuff we were giving him, even started giving them the Blue holistic cat food. With the weather changing he had some allergy issues so I started giving him benedryl. Since I give him the liquid, I get close to his face and lo and behold stinky breath. He is still eating & drinking as normal. A little sluggish though from the benedryl on and off, but that is normal. I know bad breath can be signs of something else. His gums are bit inflamed but just pink, not red. I know there really isn't anything they can do for that. What else could it be? He isn't sneezing or having mucous poop (don't ask) so I don't think it is a sinus problem.

I have no clue, I really feel that you are a good pet owner that has done everything to take care of your cat. I am not sure what's left other than taking him back to the vet.

My male cat, Charmie has had bad breath since I adopted him. I take him to the vet regularly, they say he is physically healthy. The vet told me to try changing his food, which I have but his breath is still as pungent as ever. As long as he is healthy it not too much of a problem; it only that he shares my pillow at night and breathes in my face.
