I just got and installed Linux Ubuntu 8.10 on my computer and I'm not very impressed about it. The graphics are exactly the same as the other Linux versions. You still have to mount the cd when you try to open it. You still cant install Windows programs on it. It doesnt have any cool new programs either. So basiclly its the same old Linux we all know. Nothing new. What do you think about it. Do you like it or not. I just want to go back to windows xp. Vista sucks.

linux is better than windows if u have all the softwares that are supported by linux because so many softwares that r supported by windows may not be supported by linux. So u must have such softwares which are supported by linux to get the better use of linux, it can work faster & more graphical than windows.

I mz self moved from windows becaues of all the problems it seemed to have with there being a bunch of viruses and exploits for things to get on your computer with out you knowing about it. I just upgraded to Ubuntu 8.10 and well I dont see to many new features on it. I am still a big fan of Ubuntu and most likelz wouldnt switch to some other OS. As for the running of Windows programs you most likely wont be able to run thoughs programs out of the box on a lot of the Linux OSs out there becaues of the fact that they mostlz dont have support for DirectX. Most of them support OpenGL or SDL. Linux has gone through quite a lot in becoming more user friendlz which is quite a leap from where it was a few years ago.

As far as I am concerned, I love to work in Linux than any other. I don't know what version we have. My husband assembled this linux table top computer and I love to work in it. Of course, you cannot download windows in it. Other than that, I do all the stuff with linux, what I do with microsoft Xp or whatever. Watch movies, download torrent files, chat with yahoo messenger and what not??

Hi. I was feel that it is sucks when the first time I tried to install it about 3 years ago... I was installing Slackware. The small distro that I can afford to download. Yeah... Time change... I think it is stable enough for me now. The hardest part (learning to solve problem in a different way from windows to linux) is long gone now. I was loving it now that I finally used to it.
