From what my doctor says, yes it is possible. In the least you can become very sick. I know this because my doctor refuses to prescribe some. I need it and my body is telling me I need it, yet she refuses. Iron does not react the same way in everybody. Some get constipated some don't, some become bruised real easily when they have too much iron. For some reason I go to the washroom regularly every day, when I take iron. Since the doctor has stopped my iron in August, I go every three days if I am lucky. Iron makes the air in my body circulate properly as well as prevents indigestion. Why this happens to me, I have no idea. For two years of taking iron pills I have had no health issues. Since she refuses to prescribe them, I've had three really bad health problems that have caused me to miss work. I will see another doctor in about two months. Hopefully, I will get what my body needs. I have found some iron in the natural foods stores, yet they are not as effective as the other ones I used to take. The reason she refuses to prescribe them is because my blood tests say that the level of iron in my blood is okay. She doesn't seem to understand that the reason my iron level is okay is because I was taking iron pills. The iron capsules I am now taking are not as effective, one bottle of the pills can kill a child. It is important to get as much iron through food as possible. However, it is not always readily absorbed. I think that may be one of my problems. Though I have come to realise eating steak and eggs together has produced good results. I don't think I could eat it every day. I hope this has helped you to better understand about iron and its effects.
