Have you ever been beaten up by someone for no reason?

My sister told me today that one of her ex-colleague was beaten up while walking on the street. I know that guy. He looks like a high school student even though he's already 25 this year, and he's a very mild mannered person. He was walking near a very popular place in our city (quite crowded area), returning from his class nearby. And this stranger suddenly walked up to him and beat him up for no reason.
Have you ever experienced something like this before?
My country seems to be becoming quite unsafe lately.

Ya it happened in my for sometimes in past.It is really disgusting and irritating too.I just want forget those things..........

Well, I'm sorry about that! I think that the best thing to do, is, if you can act very tough and strong, do it. But if you can't, the second best line of defense is, when you think someone is coming after you, or it's dark, act like an escaped mental patient. Flap your hands, laugh LOUDLY, talk to yourself, just anything.
I hear there is a chance of someone else feeling threatened by thinking there's a crazy, intoxicated person on the street and calling the cops on YOU, but if you're alone in the dark, I think it should be number one to think of your safety.
