In my personal opinion, a picture does indeed capture a thousand words. Pictures capture our memories. Many memories that we can look back upon and say "yeah-that happened" or "yeah- I did that." A picture can capture emotion. Someone's attitude when the picture is taken. So yea- I would have to say that a picture is worth a thousand words. What do you think? Do you think a picture is worth a thousand words?

Since this is a "words" kind of post, a picture doesn't capture words at all: that is a tape recorder!!! A picture is supposed to "be worth" a thosand words, or to "paint" a thousand words. But does it? Sometimes. Every year I run a photo competition, themed on the annual International Mental Health Week theme. This year the theme is "Resilience", and our entrants are having a lot of trouble taking pictures that express the idea of "bouncing back from troubles". They also have to add 50 words to express the idea of Resilience, too... and they have all done that really well. So, maybe a few words can express more than a thousand pictures????

I'm not very good with words, that's why I express myself using photography. If I were better with words, I'm sure I could come up with a 1,000 words to describe my photo. But since I can, I just share my photo and hope it speaks for itself!
