I never set a minimum study time per day. My technique of "revision" is to constantly reflect on the topic of study and relate to my daily experience. Educational psychology refer this as spontaneous learning / discovery. I am sure some of you may have noted people who study hours after hours without resting. They may score well for their test or exams but they may not be efficient learners. Studying requires strategy and skills. We have to rely on this because as we progress from primary -- secondary -- University...the load just keep increasing and we have limited working memory (short term memory or STM). STM is prone to memory decay. Therefore we need to rest our mind to go into the stage of consolidation where information is mapped onto our long term memory (LTM). Once it is in the LTM, you will need to create links to recall it. And recalling makes deeper imprints of the memory (ie. When you experience a break up...a sad incident, you tell yourself you want to forgot repeatedly...the fact that you are telling your self to forget, the more links you are going to find and more memories of the relationship will be recalled. Chances are that you will feel even more depressed). With this idea, one should take note of his / her attention span. Understand how long can you stay focus when you are studying...the moment your mind begins to wonder around, it means that you need to take a break because the words that you continue to read will not get into your brain. Remember that quality study is a lot more critical than quantity study. I believe that everyone has their own customize plan of studying and hope that you can share yours here. I have just revealed mine and hope that this helps...Happy MyLotting.

Hmm..I don't really have a minimum study time. I think it's better to call it as study discipline. and study discipline in my opinion is not having to study everyday like a nerd. I believe that study discipline comes in the way like, maybe you study in advance and revise again after class. Or simply revised after every class. That's a very good manner and approach to study well. It doesn't take like min study hours as I have friend who restrict themselves just to study from 8-12 every nite. But that's not the point, because during that period there are tonnes of distractions. I don't have a good study habit but I do have some study discipline. Every midnite or morning I tend to absorb more. So I'll usually study or revised during that time. And I revised for around 45 mins of what my lecturer taught. As there are researchers who say that, after each class, you have to revised it in 48 hours and you can remember better and more in the future. I believe, study like any other things, when you want to do it, do it correctly and properly, not by force. Tiger Woods, the world number one golfer once mentioned, " It doesn't care how long I took for my golf training, all it matter is how effective my training is...some of my training perhaps lasted only 20 minutes".

yeah..perhaps there is another thing that maybe helpful if you wan to try it. If you are tired , usually we get a rest. That's very good as it freshens your mind. Sometimes if you are having trouble, couldn't rest well and feeling some sort of stress. I suggest a better plan is to play game for an hour before studying. It tend to help my focus on studies better. Researcher did mentioned that games are 'brain-teasers', as it will stimulate your brain to work more efficiently. But too much game will cause you insomnia too. hehe..I'm still in my Uni, and nowadays, my schedule is getting more packed that I want to play my laptop games is so hard. And I can feel my focus turn bad, so I get myself a PSP and it is even better. Playing example 2 rounds of a football match (each 10 minutes), relax my mind and work on. hehe

I'm already working but I'm still studying. That's around ... a full week when there's a new software or a new feature or a new tool that I have to learn about. In college I didn't have minimum study time, only a maximum - which is, as long as I get enough sleep to not doze off in class tomorrow :D I pretty much studied in all of my free time in those 4 years :D Thanks for commenting in my discussion!

No i don't study everyday, one day study before the exam is enough to score good marks, but in the class if teacher is teaching any lesson we have to listen it carefully and we should remember some important points of that lesson.one day before exam when we open book ,we just have to go through the book and keep some important notes into the mind.In this way we can give answer to all question in the exam and score good marks.
