Obama... or not ?

This is going to be a short discussion. I am in no way pro-black, or pro-white, or anything other than pro-life.... and by that I mean I'm for anything and anyone that has a good positive message. To me Obama had a truly inspirational and positive message. It is not that I did not think that McCain had a positive message, I just felt like it wasn't strong enough. I also felt like his heart wasn't in it the way Obama's was.... not in the way that it needed to be. I think that hands down, Obama had a better campaign. He inspired me the way he inspired millions of people. I can't tell you how disappointing it was to me to hear some people say they weren't voting for him because of what pastor Jeremiah Wright said. I can't tell you how many churches I have been to where a minister or pastor or whoever, have said something that I did not agree with. Pastors, Ministers, Preachers, and any kind of church officials are still people and do still have faults. What they do any say is not a direct reflection of their congregation. When I see Barrack Obama I really see someone trying to make a difference in this country for everyone. Not just the rich, and not just the poor. Anyhow, my question is, lets be honest.... is part of the reason some people didn't want to vote for Barrack Obama, simply because of he's black ?

Yes of course! Unfortunately much of America and indeed much of the world under the surface is racist. 97% of hispanics voted for Obama but 40% of whites. It is a sad reflection of the society we live in and the media in particular that so much energy was wasted discussing the colour, race, gender and age of the various participants rather than their policies. Since the media treat people as idiots who are incapable of thinking for themselves they are happy to focus on this in their 15 second bulletins. This is why I got rid of my television and refuse to buy national newspapers - theya re all prejudiced. i get my nes from the Internet and can choose which stories I read and when to move on and research elsewhere - you cannot do that on TV or in the newsppaers. Join me scrap your TV and newspapers and set your mind free of prejudice and make up your own mind!

I totally agree. America still has alot of closet racists. Not only do people discriminate based on outward appearances but by age, weight, household imcome ect. And I don't see why we all got worried bout Obama's Aunt, really should he be held responsible for the actions of a family member that is not even his child? Just because one does one thing doesn't mean other relations do the same KWIM? Eitherway I just hope things turn around and fast!
