Long Car Drive

What are the things you take while you are going for a long long car drive with Kids. Say you are going to drive for 8 hours. Other than food what kind of entertaining stuff you take for kids. I have 4 year olds and we are planning to go for a small vacation for 4 days to visit our relatives in our Car. I know its gonna be hard for us and for the kids. But my husband wants to check out. We are taking breaks during night time at some restaurants. Any suggestions please

When we would take the kids on a long car ride we would being their favorite toys. Like little cars, dolls or things like that. Paper and pencils work also. WE also would take the time to play car bingo or some other game with the kids. We did have tapes audio to sing along with the kids even if we would make it silly and make up our own words. We would talk and teach the kids about what we passed.

Cushions,enough water and snacks,all the papers related to may vehicle,my phone book,fuly loaded cell phone,and enough of cash and cards.

I usually take things like two books to read per kid,,,,then colors and coloring books and notebooks and pencils this gives a variety of things for them to do. We also have games we play like twenty questions and word tag. They love it. For nitetime driving we have a dvd player for them to watch movies that has been a godsend when its to dark to read or write...We have fun

When i go somewhere with my baby, i allways take carre of medical things. Thermometer is something i never forget, fever medicine, also medicine for diarrhea because usually kids have this kind of problem when they travel.
