Hi All, I've delivered a baby girl on 16th Oct 2008 and as per the indian astrology, I've to name her with the starting letter La... So far I've got only the following two names.. if you know any new names let me know.. 1. Lakshitha 2. Lakshana

I don't mean to offend, but how have you not named her yet? What about the birth certificate?

Hi Coolkalai , Birth registartion is to be done within 21 days of the birth in India . Anyway I have given a useful link of names in above comment . your profile says that you are from Singapore . And Lakshita sounds very fine :-)

In India, you've to register the birth and name you have till the 3rd month... I'm considering Lakshitha...

HEARTY CONGRATULATIONS if you search the internet with indian baby names as the key words then you can find a lot of them - about a thousand or more . There is absolutely no need for anyone to enlist the names here :-)

Oh well thanks... I did a search in the internet and was able to find only these two names. The reason for posting this question in mylot is, if any of the mylotters have faced this issue and have any unique names...Anyway thanks for your comment.

Lavanya is a beautiful name for a girl. Its super feminine and graceful and has a charm to it which I like very much.

Are there any rules as to naming your baby there in India? Can you come up with a name that you just 'invented'? Anyway, I thought of some names but I'm not sure if this is going to be useful...Lakeisha, Larisha, Lareihna, Lasheika, Latasha.

I think Lakisha sounds nice.
