domain names nowadays are priced on average $9.++ or even $8.++ per year. i use gkg.net in registering my domain and icann fee is just few cents only per year. cheap domains like for about $2.++ are only package if you subscribe to a webhosting service also - 2-in-1 service. so basically you can't get very cheap domain without added paid service attached to it.

Oh please not Godaddy...Dear endaymo, I suggest that you go through reviews on the internet and come to a decision. Here let me give you a very reliable company. It could cost you 12$ a year. But the products are excellent and great Customer Service. They are ICANNN accredited. I have bought and hosted my domain name with them. Goto: www.net4.in Then under web services you will find Domain Registration. Now choose your options. There is another one Goto: www.name.250i.com Here the cost is just $5 and I have good feedback about them. I haven't tried them though. Go ahead and try one of them. Good luck.
