the other week i went over drawn in my bank by 98p. because i do not have a authorised over draft i will be charged £75 at the beginning of next month. I think this is extortion lol! does your bank charge you a fortune for going overdrawn and have you ever been refunded your charges? please share

oh yea.they're charging you more on what you already don't have. which makes no sense, but that's business. mine if you overdraw they charge you the sum plus a fee plus something else,i think it's a daily over fee. refunds?only once.an authorized charge tried to double dip and we caught them.but that was the only time.

that is how mine works. i get charged £15 for going overdrawn in the first place then £6 per day until it is payed! they wont give me a proper overdraft where you just pay intrest at the end of the month. but why would they if they can take all this money off me! thanks for responding and happy mylotting

yes and yes they did refund. but it is getting harder to get refund now because the banks are using this as an income...they actually LOVE it when customers overdraft so they can add fees and charges and penalties. but I got a refund from them because I had a good story, and had the person whom I talked to feel for me =) just tell the truth, and try to show how it is NOT your usual style, and they will probably forgive once (maybe twice?) g-luck!

No my bank has not introduced such charges. However I do make it a point not to go over my debit limit. If I were you I would read the fine print beforehand. Afterwards it is useless to complain. © ronaldinu 2008
