Have you ever tried to copy in your exams and got caught?

There are times when we dont study well and go for the exams.. This was when i was in 9 th grade of schooling.. It was kind of choose the best answer out of the 3 given answers. I didnt know answers for most of the questions and I was looking here and there. The one sitting next to me offered help and I answered all the questions taking his help.. Soon after, I came out of the exam room only, I found out he doesnt have any knowledge about the subject and just fooled me giving wrong answers.. If you had peeped into the exam sheet of the person sitting next to you, there are high chances of you getting caught.. Have you ever got punished doing so?? Share with me your experiences..
