Does anyone know exactly how long a cat is pregnant? My Scoots got out on Oct.11th & 12th. According to some it is anywhere between 65 days & 73 days. Please anyone help. Scoots looks like she has approx.5 babies. Her last litter was 7 babies, but we had no clue when they were due. This time I at least have 2 days of when. Thank you, Carol

Purple, you need to get your cat fixes as soon as you can after the kittens are born - 6-8 weeks. Even if she does get out, if you get it done quickly enough, it is better for the cat. A spayed cat doesn't cry, doesn't wander and is less likely to get some disease that will cause her to cost you money and to die too soon. Or, to put it another way... The lady who's cat had the 2 kittens we have now, didn't come and have her spayed on the date we had arranged, got out, got pregnant, got very sick and cost her hundreds of dollars to do an emergency spay while quite pregnant - and the second litter was lost. Sure, it cost money at the front end, but trust me, it'll save you money in the long run!

Thank you very much for your concern, but believe me after she has these babies she will be spayed. She is one of the last ones to be spayed. I didn't expect this litter. You see, I have my 80 yr.old dad who lives with me and I guess to put it nicely, he's just a little to slow when opening the door. After all it has been over a year since she's attempted to go out. I think that she got scared since her last litter was 7. And because of the med.problems of the runt:"Slippers" we kept her too. She has been diag. with a compressed spine. So I am sure that she gets the very best care! She is now 15 mo.old, but she is the size of an 7-8mo.old kitten. Thank you again. And just to let you know, she is scheduled for Feb.to be spayed. Thank you for that info. I have got the 2 days on my calander of when she got out. So now with this info. she should be due between Dec.14th-17th. But due to her med. problems endured by someone kicking her at 4 mo.old(that's when I took her back). I brought her for surg. to repair her broken pelvis and hip. She is going to have a c-section, it's only to prevent her from the pain. That's what I did for her last one 15 mo.ago. So thank you. I will be calling my vet for her c-section. Again, Thank you, Carol
