This is the first question that comes to the mind after the Indian team thrashed the england team comfortably 4-0 having left three matches to go in the series..In january this year they beat the mighty australians in the border-gavaskar ODI series and lost the test's due to bad umpiring and then came the slight fall from the asia cup and the sri lanka test series and after that again came the rise as the team beat australia comfortably 2-0 to win the test series and ofcourse now they have won the england one day series..is the indian rising to the occasion? Are they going to become the world's best team by next year and going to take away the crown away from australia?

Yes, India is surely on course to becoming the number 1 team in the world. And there is hardly any doubt about it. There are some guys around who are really playing good cricket. If anyone happens to fail, the other is there to save the day for the Indians. As far as this series is concerned, all know in what type of form Yuvraj is. Not many get the credit of slamming two consicutive centuries after a slump of form. He showed he can bend his back, if needed. In the bowling department too the likes of Zaheer Khan, Ishant Sharma, Munaf Patel, R P Singh, Bhajji, ... the list is endless. All are always up to the task. And this collective effort is ripping rich rewards for India. And this collective effort then can give results against any country. Why to talk only about the Aussies? And yes, all said, the man at the helm is equally important. Dhoni, might not have a big score against his name in this series still, but the way he is guiding the team is really commendable. Hatts off to him. And the best of luck for India in the remaining of the 3 matches of the series. I would like India to register a score of 7-0, and be the World No.1 very soon.

Thats great that you are very optimistic about the team and the players form and other things..yes as you say if one fails to perform the some one else comes in and performes..as you can notice Dilip vensarkar's effort are paying now when he's not the chief of selector..it is his idea to rotate the players and politics is completely avoided from cricket..during vengsarkar's period he chances to youngsters and dropped players who are not performing well,so munaf patel, irfan pathan and few others were dropped but the dropped players came very well than before into the team..munaf has found his rhythm back and irfan is on the road to recovery.all now depends on K.Srikanth to select and rotate players like vengsarkar so that they would come well again, and so that indian team reaches the top...

I hope so. But I think we should look out more. It is too early to say. But its also true Indian team is going through a good patch of time. if they can maintain, they will soon be at the top.

i would say no. still there are many big big holes to be filled before we are really safe to win against any team in any condition. this is just timing and form of players which makes this look like a purple patch. just assume yuvi to be in the ordinary form. then with rohit and raina struggling we would have been say 2-2 (optimistically thinking) instead of 4-0. also zaheer is bowling for a long period of time without the usual injury problems. even if he had problems we would have struggled. we are no where close to no.1 spot. by no.1 spot i mean that the team should dominate under all conditions. and lets not forget we are in the flattest tracks in india where u & i can score runs. lets wait for some foreign tour to Englad/SA/Aus and then lets see what happens. actually i am not against india. i am a fan who feels that india wins all matches. but i am harshly critical when it comes to performance. thats me.

Let us always hope for the best..even the mighty australian are having a bad patch during some seasons but they are coming well again, this has to be the same case with the Indians they won the australian One day series in jan and lost to pakistan in feb and from then they have been only on the winning side they come back strongly than ever..thanks to dhoni's captaincy and coach and selectors...i understand the fact that you are fan who critisize the team..well i accept your point, anyway lets always hope for the beat...

Yes sure. The way they are playing for the past one year definitely like a champion team. Also when we check the average age of the team, it is only 24 and so this indian team will definitely take away the crown from Australia.

I dont think so but maybe if they work so hard they can be the most powerful team, in all the world are a lot of very very powerfuls teams but if they work like now and a little more hard :D they maybe will be but its very difficul but no impossible ;). Have a nice day and hope you will have a very good week ;) see you and bye bye.

Thats what we have been stressing over here..if we win more matches like this and rotate players who are not performing well then we could be having the most poweful cricket team in the world.but luck also plays a major role in this and i think dhoni has got the lady luck with him.

Hello my dear balacancer22 Ji, Trend shows so. Even they have now won at Cuttuck. I am sure they will win by 7-0 lead. have a great time.

Yes trend showed that we would become the number one team during 2003 itself but then we got the worst hit during that period and now again it shows so but this time we would like this to continue and we would want to win the world cup in our own soil..

I dont think they can now go on to win the series by seven-zero and they have the lead of 5-0 and england are already on their way out to their country and the odi series is off and i think that this is the biggest hit as far as dhoni and indian cricket is concerned and i would indian team to play like this in the future matches also....
