SO, I ended up watching Tropic Thunder over the weekend, was actually hesitating, thinking that they put up so much hype about the comedy of this movie, I might be disappointed...um...still don't know what to say, but I will say that I am GLAD I got the 2 disc set, because the special features sure as heck make up for any dislike of the movie. Apparently this movie has been in the works for the past 10 years, according to Writer director Ben Stiller and his friend (also writer director) Justin Theroux, but when they say that, they're referring to random jokes they thought of, then emailed each other about, and I'm guessing they kept them in an archive of sorts. When I heard that, I appreciated the movie more, can see that they worked hard on this, and yes, it's true, not too many people will get this, but I mean, just like with Zoolander (Ben Stiller also) it was meant to be so OUT THERE, that was the funniness of it, at least the way I see it. I will say though the opening was what really caught me though, very impressed with the opening sequence (the war part, not the fake previews, but those were funny as well....HAHA! Tobey Mcguire, wow, I tip my hat to you!)Something you would most likely see in an actual war movie....but with more laughs. Anywho, back to the meaning of my title. The character of Les Groseman, the CEO of something or other whom is funding the movie, is essentially a little old "chubby", yet fit balding man with glasses, gee I hope I described that right, and throughout the whole movie, he's serious, um, "gangstah", cussing his head off, all time best business man, ruthless, and uh...a great dancer. Now there is a closing scene at the end of the movie, where he's busting a rug, if you will, and I had NO CLUE, that it was Tom Cruise, until one of my friends, who was watching the movie with me, said, "Oh Tom Cruise, you're so craaaa-zy." I looked at her and said, "Huh? What does Tom Cruise have to do with this?" I stared harder at the screen, the glasses came off, yes, that's right, I did NOT recognize him until he took the glasses off, ha ha, reminds me of so many jokes, where someone "in disguise" with just a hat, someone takes the hat off, and then GASP, it's THEM! Yeah, well this is how I felt, and boy can that dude DANCE! I was all like, "Go Tom-Tom, GO Tom Tom!" So yeah, I feel silly for not noticing it was him until the end of the movie. hehe.

I was pretty shocked but I find that to be the best part of the movie and im sure most people do and will remember him dancing and robert downey jr playing a black guy which really made the movie funny.

Yeah, especially Robert Downey Jr. They did SUCH a good job on his makeup. Thanks for posting!
