Economy meltdown - are you affected?

Yes. Place am work have a sister company almost 90% get fired, and now some my friends get fired in this company and some issue said will be more employee will get fired that make us more feel worry. I just can pray i wish am not one of person get fired, always pray my name not on the list people get fired. Ohhh God am really worry cos am still have responsibility to pay school my sister and pay back to bank money ever my father borrow for his business already bankrupt.

well my hubby had to get another job, fortunately we know some friends who were able to get him one, but he had to take a pay cut, so now we're short 200 a wk, so hopefully i'll be able to find a job to make up for that but with this economy it's highly unlikely because no one is hiring. so it has affected us tremendously.

My company did not take as hard of a hit as I inticipated. We are still afloat with are heads above the water. I was asked to lay off a few people just in case the bailout is as bad as everyone thinks it's gonna be then we will have already gotten a jump start on things. I have yet to do this because I think it is just silly. If something dose happen then take care of it then, don't just assume and fire people. Especially with christmas being right around the corner I would never let someone go this tim e of the year.

I am definitely affected . I have been in my current job profile for over a year. I not only hate this job profile but i also am scared about my career growth . i belong to IT industry. Since last 2 months i have frantically looking for a job change, but due to economic slow down companies have stopped their recruitment by 70-80 %.

I have been impacted by the economic downturn, though not as deeply as most. I still have a job. However, promises for progression in the company have disappeared as positions are not being created as was planned back in the summer. Also, we will not receive our cost of living increases until March as opposed to January. On the other hand, my health insurance costs have increased. Like I said, it is not like I am jobless, so I should count myself lucky. However, my morale is a little low today after finding out for the third time that a promised promotion is not materializing. I hope no one who lost their job is offended by my depression. I'll grow up and get over it eventually, just not tonight.

well i am indirectly affected...because of financial crisis in us market..our country had gat less outsourcing orders which affected our salaries..they cut by 20% in our salries...hope i will get in good condition soon
