How to get more responses?

How get more responses for a discussion posting? My discussion received highest posting of 10 only, but I see many are having as much as 50 or more. Is there any specific way for getting more responses like having more friend or posting in toping more attractive or putting right key words?
The way of getting more responses is still a mistry to me.

I think you have to start a discussion that is a bit different or funny. Something that is very interesting and makes people think.
