Many people are making friends and potential love through the internet. In a way, I feel that the internet has created socially retarded people and I'm not meaning that in a bad way, I happen to be one of those socially retarded people. Do you consider this healthy or unhealthy?

I don't think it's bad at all. If anything, it's helped me to be more social because I've met more people than I would have if I hadn't been online because I actually will meet these people in real life. If I don't meet them, I still get to know them online. I think the danger is if you use this as an excuse to not have to go out in person and ever talk. For instance, my friends would rather text than actually just pick up the phone. I'd rather get a phone call over an email or a text any day! Sometimes things are just better in person! If you can't remember the last time you got together with your friends, but have talked every day online, I think it is unhealthy and time to shut the computer off for a bit!

Oh, another thing is that it has helped me get in contact with people you naturally lose touch with after high school! It makes it a lot easier to find old college and high school friends-even elementary school friends I lost contact with because I moved and was too young to write them!

i think internet is the best ways to keep in touch with many and to make friends. the chating calling messaging facilities are wonderful in internet and now there are many sites that support all this things the video conferencing can be called the best so far. but due to chating facilities to everyone the amount of cyber crime and the teenage kids exposing them selves using web cam for money have increased. this things are dangerous and a threat. but it can be controlled using proper measures.
