Any Known remedy for Gall stones??

10 days bask my dad was diagnosed with gall stone disease(cholelithiasis) & had to undergo surgery...Whole of my family was worried about the issue....He is still on the path of recovery...I want to ask whether there is any known definitive & proven medical means by which gallstones can be prevented? Or any modification in life style & habits would help?

My mother was just operated for the same reason (gall stones). I don't have any idea how it could have been avoided but the doctor said that if we don't agree to operate at that time, the next attack could be fatal. So we, her children, decided to have my mom undergo the said operation. So far now, she's been dooing okay. It's been five months since the operation. One major change in her eating habits is that she doesn't eat meat anymore. It becomes hard for her to digest this kind of food, so she's into vegetables, fruits and fish now- which is much better for anyone's health anyway.
