What is BB code?

Those who are in the habit of promoting their URLs through signatures in various forums will be able to help me here. What is a BB code? I understand that, in most forums, they don't accept HTML. But they do allow list BB codes and link BB codes.
Does this make sense, anyone? Are you willing to give me a crash course on how to use BB code? Best response guaranteed!

Good day, my friend.. BBCode is a special implementation of HTML. BBCode is similar in style to HTML. BBCode includes tags to allow you to quickly BBCode includes tags to allow you to quickly.
To make a piece of text bold:
Hello
will become Hello (in bold)
For underlining use [u][/u]:
Good Morning
will becomes Good Morning (underlined)
To italicise text use [i][/i]:
Great!
turn out : This is Great! (Great became italicise)

Good Morning, my friend.. so you want to create a link.. Sure, lets start the lesson..haha!!
To create a hyperlink, encase the link as shown below:
[url]www.website.com[/url]
The BBCode automatically generates a hyperlink to the URL that is encased.
To create a Email Links:
[email]anonymous@email.com[/email]
The BBCode automatically generates a hyperlink to the email address that is encased.

BTW , myLot code is also compiled from BB code !
