Meaning behind flowers

I received a bouquet of flowers from a friend and I got surprised.The roses are so lovely that it made me smile and blush.However, it gave a confusion on me because the one who send those is a friend of mine. In addition to that, I am the only friend of his who he had given that thing.I keep on asking him why he gave me flowers but he is not answering. I believe that a guy will give something like that if he is admiring someone, however he already knew I have boyfriend.
To those women who will read this, have you experienced receiving flowers? What did you feel?
My question to those men who will read this is have you gave flowers to someone before? What is your reason of giving flowers to someone?

Is there a special occcasion that he meybe giving you flowers? has he givien you flowers before? Have you done or said something that maybe he wants to thank you for or you may have said or done something and maybe he got encourged by it? either way you have to gently let him know that you are only interested in his friendship or lot of people could get hurt by thing(yourself included). There is no special occasion when he gave it to me. It was just another ordinary day. This is the first time he did it and I am confused why he gave it.

wow... if there was no special occasion, then you must be very special for him to send you a bouquet of flowers... maybe he wants to pursue to court you, since, like you said, he did not answer your question when you asked him what are those flowers for...

I had recieve flowers from my husband when our relation just was starting, he sent me red roses and a note saying he was falling in love with me, and I must said that when I saw the flowers I felt so happy and excited because they were so beatiful and that was a very nice and romantic present that I started to feel that I was falling in love with him too, and though he has sent me flowers a few more times after the first one I still felt the same way when I get them, I believe that if a man send flowers to woman is because he has romantics feelings for her.

I think it will catalogy into two types.first ,he gives your flowers at the day when is your birthday,or other important day for you ,or festival.second, he send you flowers without said reason.if it is the first situation, it indicates he is admiring you and he have falled in love with you .he don't express his fellings directly,for he know you already have bf.he only want to tell you ,you are attractive and graceful. I believe the only thing you should is not to pay attention to it ,and let your friendship go on.

I feel that he still hasn't changed his mind. He is still in love with you but since you have told him that you love him only as a friend, he may be feeling bad to tell you that he's still having feelings for you. He may have sent flowers because he loves you and that maybe to tell you that he still have feelings for you. Normally friends do not send red roses. If you do not have feelings for him just ignore it and just be friends.

Hi friends
I love flowers.every flower has got its own colour,texture and fragrance.I love rose the most.Each coloured rose has its own importance.Red rose symbolises love,whit rose symbolises peace and purity,and yellow rose symbolises friendship and so on.
I received flowers from my friend ,on my birthday but he gave as a friend and he is one my dearest friend.

If i were to give flowers to a friend of mine who is a female and has a boyfriend, it would be because i care about her and she is a special friend. I would say it s because you are in his heart as a very special friend, that he sent you flowers. I think it is a surprise to you, which would be the very reason why he sent you flowers TO SURPRISE YOU. Well to me it is as if he means no more than that coz he knows that you have a boyfriend. But if he was to start a relationship with you, would you agree?

My best friend is male, and I am female. He has sent me flowers on a couple of occassions. Sometimes roses, however they were not red roses which is said to symbolize love. Sometimes it was for occassions and other times just as a nice jesture. I never questioned his intent as we have no romantic interest in each other. Never have. We have been friends for many years.

My friend gave me 3 red roses. He told me before that he has feelings for me but I replied that I can only love him as a friend. He distant himself to me and we not talk for a year. But now, we are back again as friends and I hoped his feelings before for me which is more than a friend, is now gone.

wow how sweet he is. Well receiving a kind of gift or flowers specifically was really flattering.
I think if he knew already that you have a boyfriend and he still gave you a flower unexpectedly maybe he wants to say something, or just a thank you for whatever you have done in the pass that he's just shy to tell, and he is just too humble to recall it again to you. Or he just want to, you know minds of the men, very unpredictable.

I find men who gives flowers, sweet also and thoughtful as well. I think anyone who will receive flowers from a guy will feel flattered.Thanks for the response.

Don't think too much and you could think the flower is only for greeting of friendship between you and your friend.Somehow you have to check your behavior and avoid being misunderstood.I myself dont believe the real friend ship between man and woman,thus I always take care of my express as I married and would not want to involve any intimate relation with other male except my husband.

Hello annierose,
I've only ever received flowers from friends on my birthday.
One of my long-time friends sent me red roses once...because he wouldn't mind being romantically involved with me, but that's not going to happen....ever, and he knows it. He can still send red roses though, I don't mind.

Thanks for sharing princesskitten. I got your point. It is so easy to ignore the flowers given to us by men who we not like but I think it is somehow annoying if he do it most of the times and keep insisting his feelings even though he already know that I have my boyfriend.

I experinced recieving flowers. There are several reasons why men gave flowers to women. It could be a way of asking for an apology. If men made a mistakes such as forgetting special occations like anniversary. For them to asked for forgiveness. White roses are the commonly used in asking a forgiveness. :-) I just remembered last valentines day my dad bought a bouquet of red roses to my mom and a dozen of pink toses for me. So I asked my dad why is it it's red roses for my mom and pink roses for me. He just smiled. And at the end f the day, I kew the answer.:-)

maybe your friend likes you. He just can't tell you because you have a boyfriend. Maybe it's his way of telling you that he likes you. Godspeed..

Yes, I think so that is good so to make him aware but I did not do. I just accept it and say thanks to him. So hard to reject those flowers that was given to me from a friend and not simply an acquaintance.

Even i never gave flowers to someone. I want to share one thing.
I read some poems, some poems are comparing girls with flowers. All girls like flowers and flower is also soft like girls. This may be the reason, boys are giving flowers to girls.

Dont think too much,you could just take the flowers as greetings.Somehow you'd better check your behavior and avoid being misunderstood. There's no realy friendship between man and women, thus I always take care of my express to male friends.Since I get married and satisfy with my marriage, I never want to involve any inimate relation with other man except my husband.

If my male friend will give me flowers like you received maybe I will speculate something, maybe he like me enough to send me flowers. I mean, flowers symbolize love, affection and compassion. Boys are not very detailed in giving flowers if you are nothing to them,so maybe he is secretly admiring you, only that you have a boyfriend that leads him to conceal his feelings.
