Hi there! Well, dog breeders I knew say that German Shepherds are best with kids and family. They may look big and though they are known to be a police dog, they are intelligent and can be be trained very well. They can be good protectors for their human family. I have shih tzus as pets. I also have a niece and in my observation they are getting along well. Toy dogs are cute and kids and adults alike adore them. Shih tzus are known to be companion pets and friendly animals. I think all kinds of breed can be good with kids and family. It all depends on their training. I suggest if you like to have a dog for a pet be sure have them as a puppy so they will grow up with you and learn to love and obey every member of your family. Hope that helps. Ciao!

The Staffordshire Bull Terrier has been nicknamed the Nanny Dog because it adores people and is especially good with children. It is no good as a home guard dog because if burglars came it would be more likely to wag its tail and lick them in welcome than warn them off. But woe betide anyone who posed a threat to the children in its family. You have to take care with Staffies around other dogs because they are a fighting breed. But this means they are tough and don't take offence if children are rough with them.

A Nanny Dog? Well that's a cute nickname. I have not seen a breed like that. Is that the one in Peter Pan cartoon movie?

I personally have to say a type of cattle or ranch dog such as a Australian Sheppard. My dog Bella has the perfect temperment, she love's kids and always watches them. Whether we are at the park and she follows them where ever they go and make sure they are being good or if it comes time to sleep. She likes to cuddle with everyone. She also is very protective of her family. She knows when someone means harm and she will be the first up there defending her family and children. I thin kit just really depends on how you raise and treat the dog.

For the most friendly I would say a Lab. Labs are very friendly and just love to play . Really any breed can make a good family dog , its all in how they are trained and treated . If they were raised around kids , they should be fine

In my experience Labrador Retreivers are the best family dogs. Of course every dog has an individual temperment but so far I've not met a lab I do not like. They tend to be friendly, playful, and unaggressive. Good luck with the search!
