It depends on your personal budget after all. If you are a graphic designer, I urge you to go for Apple. I am a designer too but not using Apple. Now saving money for Apple laptop. pamper yourself after a long hardworking earning. You will never regret when you get the Apple laptop. By the way, Merry Christmas to you! And Happy New Year...

Hey thanks. Btw, whats the operating system that you're using? I heard that Linux is good too. But haven't tried it. Have you? :) Thanks. Merry Christmas to you!

I am using Window Vista OS. In Malaysia, we are exposed only to Window OS since PC is available in Malaysia. Linux is limited and only can be found in some certain company. Window Vista graphic is better than Window XP but I am sure that Apple does it much much more better than this. By the way, where are you from? Hope you already know what to get for yourself...

Its more personal preference I'd say. Me i hate dell. I work with about 2500 laptops and 1000+ desktops. All dells. Lots of repairs. I guess If I had all macs then I'd hate apple as well. heh From what I've always known is mac is more powerful for grahic designs. The programs used are more advanced then the windows ones. They also dont crash as much. I'm not big mac fan since I've grown up with windows.. Now linux can be good but that also depends on what you do with it. Normal windows programs usually do not run on it unless you get something that lets it. I've tried a few and mostly I end up making them into an apache server.

I guess you can say that :) Don't get me wrong Dell can be great as well, Just personal preference. If you've used them in the past then go for it. As for vista, I'm running it on my laptop and I basically just game and use the internet. I did have to system recover it once after an update. Other then that its just windows. If you want just a graphics and development machine, go for the Mac. If you want all in one then I'd go for windows. Its just easier for most. You could always save for both lol. Good luck with which ever you decide on :)

I recommend you the apple computer because you are a graphic designer and for me the best computer for designe is the Apple!! But you will spend more in the apple computer than the dell, i dont really know how much money you have to buy your new computer but i think the apple is more for you, if you just want to spend your time in the internet and thinks like that (no for job as designer) i recommend you the dell, but buy some computer with you will feel more confortable with it doesnt matter the brand!! Have a nice day and hope you will have a very good week;) happy thanksgiving day, see you soon and bye bye

i'd say go for the dell, mac is more for entertainment in my opinion, however mac is very reliable.

Dell laptop - I am using an IBM one, which is very old while the other one my wife is using is a Dell one.
Hello rgenzon. I am not very expert at computers so far as computer is concerned. But the two laptops my and I are using are good. I am using an IBM one, which is very old while the other one my wife is using is a Dell one. We use our laptops for daily use like checking emails, voice chatting and so on. Now it is one month after your discussion, I guess that you have already got a laptop of yours. So what brand have you bought, please? Are you happy with it? Happy New Year to you, rgenzon.
