Our new way of making coffee is using bottled water. My hubby and I find that using bottled water sure brings out the wonderful taste of coffee. Usually if we use tap water there's a film on top floating there but bottled water seems to look clean and tastes so much better. Do you have tips on making coffee taste better? Please share your ideas

I totally agree with you Nixxi regarding how bottle water brings out the taste of coffee. Me and my husband only make coffee with bottle water because it does make it taste 100% better. I find that if I also keep the insides of our coffee machine clean it also keeps our coffee tasting great. Once a month I take the top part of my coffee maker off and gently clean it with baking soda and soft wash cloth then I rinse it out well then I place the top back on then add a cup of white vinegar to a full pot of water then I turn on the coffee maker and let it run it's cycle then I run it 2-4 more times threw the cycle with clear water until the water runs clean. I think buy keeping a coffee machine clean makes a difference in coffee taste also.

Hi Cass, Thanks for the excellent tips on how to clean my coffee maker! I will definitly do that very soon probably this weekend seeing that it's probably been a very long time or hardly cleaned at all. We were going to buy one until my mom gave us this one back to us. We lent it to her when we weren't drinking at all that much coffee. We bought her one for christmas and she uses that one everyday. So.. she returned our old one back to us just to save us money. Thanks for your advice

hi, nixxi76 i have read that distilled water is best for making coffee. but we use purified water because distilled is too expensive. for the best tasting coffee, my husband and i rely on some coffee shops here in our place. however, recently, our morning coffee tastes better because i finally insisted on buying a coffee-maker. we have been using instant coffee since we got married (less than one year) and, frankly, i was getting tired of it. have a great day!

Hi Rainegurl, When it comes to coffee I can definitly say that using a coffee maker, makes coffee so much more enjoyable than using instant. I'm sure purified water is just as good as distilled. My mom likes using tap water because of the floride in the water that plays the role of a protector for your teeth. Thanks for your comment

I honestly can't notice the difference between coffee that has been used with bottled water and that that has been used from a tap. Have you tried using brita water? I'm sure you'd get the same effects. I just love going to Timmys and getting a coffee there. :)

Hi Amanda, I love Timmy's coffee as well. Unfortunitly, the nearest one to me is a 1/2 hour away from my house. When I was living in that town and working there, I would be going through that drive thru every morning. I've never tried the brita water in the coffee because I don't own a brita or filter for it. I use to but I just found that trying to keep up with buying those filters was pricey and because I went through a whole lot of water, I found myself going through more of them than what was instructed on the packaging. My mom may give us her water machine that we gave her for christmas one year and that sure holds a lot more water than the little bottles do. I'm quite excited about that and I have the perfect spot for it. Thanks for you response
