I am not what you would call a big fan of zombie movies but a couple of really awesome ones are Wicked Little Things with Scout Taylor-Compton from 2006's After Dark Horrorfest 8 Films to Die For and 28 Days Later with Cillian Murphy. I didn't see the sequel, 28 Weeks Later, but I heard the only reason it was a sequel was because the title said it was. Wicked Little Things is about a widow who inherits a house that had been in her husband's family for several generations and she moves with her two daughters to live in the house. Anyone who knows the cardinal rules of surviving a horror movie knows that moving your moody teenager to a remote location in the country or in the woods is a bad idea, and it definitely is in Wicked Little Things. 28 Days Later is kind of an older movie, in movie years anyway. It came out in 2003. It's about a plague that wipes out a large portion of the British population and what happened to the people who didn't die. Standard zombie movie fodder but well done, not at all campy like the George Romero movies.

may i suggest from dusk til dawn with george clooney if you have not already seen it. it isn't a zombie film, infact from the first few scenes it appears to be a gangster movie. i will not tell you anything else incase i spoil the suprise if you have not already seen it. hope this helps and happy mylotting
