Afraid of Love

I don't really like to admit this to people but its true. I am afraid of falling in love. I have so many friends and family that have been so in love and then crushed by love and have been so broken-hearted afterwards. I know I have to experience love for myself, but I haven't met a guy yet that I want to take that chance with. I am 25 (is this very uncommon for women?) and I do want to get married one day and have kids, but for right now I am discouraged by all the crap that I experience with alot of guys, most guys that I meet just want to play around they but want me to think they are serious(looking for love). I would rather you be absolutely honest with me about what it is that you want from me. If you speak honestly, you just might get what you want, but don't try to fool me with lies. I am past those days of just fooling around, and I do want love but I want real love, and if a guy wants my love he'll have to prove he is serious about it and earn it.

Hi, to be honest with you i also feel the same before... but you know you have to look at LOVE or RELATIONSHIP on the positive aspect. It is true that when you fall in love sooner or later you will be get hurt but have you ever wondered why people keep on loving in spite of getting hurt? Because there's pleasure in loving and that what they call MYSTERY behind it. And to my own experience ones you tried it you will get addicted to it ...LOL Don't be afraid to fall in love , as the saying goes: "IT IS BETTER TO LOVE AND LOST THAN NEVER LOVED AT ALL." cheers!

It is better to have loved than to never have loved at all. I do believe that. that's why I know I'll have to give it a try sooner than later. thanks for the advise

It can be a very scary thing especially if you are the type of person who gives their all, because usually when you give your all maybe you sort of expect a little back and these days there always seems to be the one giving all and the other one just taking and it seems there are way too many people who take peoples love for granted..

Hi, thanks for responding. I do give my all in my friendships and with my family. I am very loyal, thats how I know I will give my all whenever I do finally fall in love. I love hard. When It comes to my family and friends, I would do anything for them because they mean so much to me. I just hope and pray there is someone out there for me who will treat me in that same manner.
