New virus never stop emerging. I think these virus are created with certain purpose. Some conspiracy theory even said, they are purposely created by the anti-virus company. So, you need to buy their software in order to cure such virus. But I think most of the virus are created with malicious intentions. Some are created by hackers, in order to gain access to other people's computer. Some of them are punished, but some got away unpunished. Therefore, in order to be safe from virus, we should take precaution method like installing anti-virus software, anti-spyware/adware program and etc.

I have to agree with the first post, one door closed, another opened, that's the way it is. it's the world of information. I think that the people making the virus definitions in the antivirus are making great money with all the new viruses coming up these days. Maybe the same people making antiviruses are developing new viruses so people will always depends of their antiviruses.. that's what I think dollar

PS my friend while this is not a new thing to see a virus affecting the computer. I feel sorry to those who invented things are very noble intention in their minds and there are few people who always gets the negative side out of the same. Every invention and signs as the positive side and the negative side. It is up to us how we want to use it. Most of the times although the inventions were very noble, they are misused a lot.

There's a free antivirus program that you can download that is supposed to be better than Norton and other antivirus programs that seem to cost a fortune. You also have to purchase a new Norton program every year, which makes it even more expensive. My Norton is getting ready to expire in about three weeks, and I am definitely going to download the free software. I think it is called AVP or something like that.
