I heard this on the news the other day and I had to share it with you. In 2007 Edna Parker from Shelbyville, IN was recognized as the oldest living person of 115 years old. She was born in 1893. The Guniess Book of world records recognized her as the oldest living person after the death of Yone Minagawa (Japan) who was only four months older than Edna. According to the article she did not offer any tips for longevity other than more education. Sounds like a smart lady to me. She also debuncts the idea of a spouse dying shortly after their loved one. Her husband died in 1939 and she lived alone on the farm until she turned 100 years old. She outlived two sons. Now the oldest person title is passed to Maria de Jesus of Portugal who was born in September of 1893. Here's the link to the article. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/27944486/?GT1=43001 The oldest people in my family were my great grandmothers. Both lived pat 100 years old. I remeber as a child I was at one of their 100 birthdays. Do you have any centurians in your family?

WOW! Not many people can live that long. And living alone like that... wow... I think its kinda sad. None of my family reach 95. Actually only one of my family get in to the 90s.
