Do you have spirit in your Christmas or has it become more of a financial burden

Every year me and my children would read the story of Christmas from the bible and take turns as they got old enough to read their own passages..now it seems like everyone just enjoys the presents part of the whole thing. Adults included. It makes me sad that the true meaning seems so lost sometimes.

Hi JenInTN, it is sad to hear how little people pay attention to the true meaning of Christmas. I think that was such a good thing that you used to do with your Children. I remember when I was a kid we used to do plays and singing at church. All of the children would have their own parts and it was split up by age groups.
Of course that was forever and a day ago. I think plays are another great way to get children involved in the true meaning of Christmas.
Thank you for starting this discussion, and have a great day!
P.S. Merry Christmas!

Thank you..I love the church plays...I used to do them too. I think I might try to get my kids to do some kind of public service..like delivering baskets or something. In these days and times they definately need to appriciate something besides gifts. Merry Christmas.
