Marriage Counseling?

Me and my husband are going to start counseling. He says its a waste of time and a stranger isn't going to change him. Me, on the other hand, think it would be a huge relief to get someone else's opinion. Has anyone tried marriage counseling, and how did it work out for you?

Not really to a marriage counselor but we have friends who have given us their time and love during our time of need. You are right about having a different opinion. He is also right about a stranger changing him because the change has to come from HIM and nobody else. He has to have an open mind and willingness to listen for something like that to work out.
