I'll be joining a debate this Thursday December 4,2008... Hope you could help me formulate some arguments regarding this issue. As of now, I do not know whether I'm on the government or opposition side. I'd really appreciate your responses my fellow myloters! Hoping for substantial answers... Thank you!

Nobody in USA seems concerned about the huge debt there. Nobody in EU seems to be worried about the huge debt there, so I wouldn't worry - it seems everyone is able to borrow as much as they want.. What matters is how the money is spent. In UK, the money is wasted on encouraging and rewarding bad behaviour - broken relationships, people living alone, money to parents regardless of whether they do a good job or not - huge amounts on failure - to the Police, criminal 'justice' system and the prisons where we have 80,000 men in prison and only 4000 women. Reward good behaviour and favour 2-parent families over single parents. Reward and encourage kids who learnb and do not break the laws, parents whose kids grow up properly. Unlike us in the UK and you may well avoid the expensive mess of social problems that we have here. Best of luck.
