What are the criteria for Blogger while applying for Google Adsense

When I tried to register myblog (in blospot.com) to google adsense,I got email which told me that the application is not approved because of "page type". I stared blogging a week before. Does it need to be atleast 6 months old?? or they refuse it for the content.pls give idea of starting google adsense in blog.
