How to choose another topic than diplayed?

Always I have to struggle to find another topic of my interest other than the ones on display.I usually go to my profile and go to, see all my interests and then choose a topic to post discussions.Is there any other way to do this?Like,clicking new discussion on the top and going right away to all our interests?Please help me!
