Wacom has the largest share of the market; you can get into them for about $70, or often free if you catch a bundle offer. Be prepared to spend several hundred dollars for one of their Intuos line and well over a grand for their Cintiq line (basically an LCD monitor that you "draw" directly onto. The price escalates considerably as size goes up. Other brands to look at include Digipro and Aiptek which can give you much of the functionality for less money.

Drawing tablet is not expensive. Its cost is $50-$100.
