Do you easily remember Names?

I to forget peoples names often. I am a bartender so I usually remember faces, what the person drinks, and sometimes a nick name that has been given to them. Other then that I am clueless as to what their name is. I always tell people not to take offense because I am really bad at remembering names.

Yes I can easily remember names and places, I make it a point to remember all things in my surroundings, when I was in highschool my teachers said that I have a "Photographic Mind" because I can easily remember details vividly including complicated names and things. I am quite good in memorizing where I can memorized paragraph within 5 minutes. You know what?I can even memorized all Miss Universe winners from 1952 down to 2008 complete with their countries and the venue of the pageants!I memorized atleast 150 capital cities all over the world. I mean, I loved memorizing things maybe that's the reason why I can easily remember names and places even if just only a while ago, it will stick in my mind for a lifetime.

No freind i can't because it's really difficult to know all the things and to keep it in our mind. It really the same problem that you are facing.

I have a problem remembering the names of people that I met even only a few minutes after introduction, I would not be able to remember who is who. I can remember faces very well but to associate names to those faces, I would fail miserably. There were many times where I bumped into old friends or colleagues, I would straight away recognize their faces but then I would not remember their names. That's why sometime I had to just ignore them rather then be caught in an embarrassing situation where I could not remember the name of a person who remembered mine... There were times where I could not escape and during those times, I would always ask for their name cards or business cards with the pretext of updating my database while the actual intention is really to see what their names are and that would work in most situations unless they do not have cards with them... I am not sure whether that can be cured but I just let it be as it is for now. Cheers!

Hi frnds, I will remember always a good names of my frnds but not the enemies of me. i will keep names in my mind for ever and ever.I will kept as a memory for ever in my life.remembering a good names it will nice and for ever in my life.

No I'm actually really good at remembering names. For some reason I can just place names with faces and connect things together pretty fast and pretty well. I think that's the way of thinking with the right lobe of the brain.

i think i'm better at faces. but i'm horrible with names and where i know a person from, but if i recognize someone it will bother me all day b/c i won't remember from where and what their name was.

I was horrible with names until I read a Dale Carnegie book "how to win friends and influence people". When you are introduced to someone, repeat thier name back to them as you're shaking the hand. Then silently name associate, like if the name reminds you of something, associate it with that. I still forget names, because I forget what I read in the book, as long as I apply what I read, I'm OK. If someone has a name like Bill, Bob, Steve, Scott, then I will tend to forget more easily than if the name is more unusual. I remember places better than names for sure.

I normally can remember names after awail. I don't always have them memorized right away but after awail I get them down well.

For some people, I have no trouble at all remembering their names. For others, I can't remember it for the life of me! I don't know what it is! I have no idea why I have such an easy time remembering one person's name, but such a difficult time remembering someone else's name! Birthdays on the other hand I am awesome at! If I'm told someone's birthday just once, then I remember it for years. I can still remember the birthdays of my friends from preschool! Friends' birthdays, exes' birthdays, aunts, uncles and cousin's birthdays, celebrities' birthdays, even pets' birthdays! It is so easy for me to remember. My boyfriend has even had to ask me when his own mother's birthday is!

Even i do the samething. Sometimes i forget the names of the people whom i met, when i see them again i just give a little smile and ask slowly his or her name and then i write it on my diary so that i wont forget it again. i wont forget it easily but when i do, i does the same thing. I am good at faces but I am horrible at remembering names. In the line of work I do many people come in and expect you to remember their names and sometimes I will have no idea and they seem to get mad when I have to ask them like I should have known. Over time I have come to know some of them but it is still problem with me trying to remember all of their names. I have some trouble with places but not as much as with names.
