health problems with boxers

I"ve had my boxer(she's a white boxer) for about two years now and have never had any health problem other than allergies which I give her benedryl(vet recomended)and gas depending on her diet. but people tell me about all these health problems associated with boxers such as hip problems , blindness, hearing loss,some crippling joint disease. I have friends that have boxers and never had problems anyone know anything more about white boxers? I have a friend that has a white boxer 12 years old and is going blind in one eye.(otherwise healthy)
