Tell about how your family celebrates Christmas. Are there any traditions you do each year? Have you carried on traditions from your childhood or made your own?

Our tradition is that the kids all come over for breakfast. After breakfast we sit around the tree and open our gifts one at a time. Then after they are all open, we play games or just have fun and eat lots of junk food lol.

I usually make it myself but this year my daughter and daughter-in-law are going to make it. I think we're having french toast, waffles, bacon, sausage and maybe eggs. Everyone lives near by. The farthest is my son who is about an hr away. The games we play are usually games like Uno or Phase 10 card games. Sometimes board games like Sorry.

This sounds like fun. What kind of breakfast do you have? Are you the one to make it? Does everyone live pretty close together? What kind of games do you play?

Each of one have to prepare a certain dish for Christmas Eve. Most of the time it is a dish we haven't prepare before, we will just choose a recipe from a book or from the internet and that what will be our "entry" for the feast. We called it "Yucky Food Fest" because sometimes the dishes turn out weird in appearance ... lol ... :)

I think that's a great idea. Then no one person will have to worry about making the big feast and being stuck in the kitchen all day. Who does the clean up? Everyone? Having different meals each Christmas sounds better then the same stuff. It's funny how doing something different each year can still be a tradition.

Everyone does the clean up. We have to clean whatever we've used. It's also pretty exciting, cooking and eating a dish you haven't cook or tasted before. Happy Holidays!

I'm not sure that we have any real traditions for Christmas, other than going to my grandparents. We did go see the lights last year, and if we can, we're going to go see them this year. It just depends on the work hours.

Usually we have to go to Christmas eve together as a family then after the mass we have to proceed to our home instead of going somewhere. We have to eat the food we prepare together with other relatives. Yes, we have this tradition since my childhood and does not ever change. The food we prepare are usually native foods.
