i'm actually studying in a school of engineering, exactly network technologies. and sometimes i think that people around me, are such closed up . they have no life, they are working on computer everytime even holidays, they think only in maths, they enjoy their freetime on discussing technical problems and a lot of other things that make me freaking out about my own future. i have some contacts, who are already engineers, and honestly there is nothing improved. so what do you think about this kind of people ? can we be a good engineer and enjoying happy normal life at the same time ?

Yeah, I'm agree with you. I'm studying chemistry and I feel like talking about benzene all the time. But, if you just make your study fun, you'll be a good engineer without being a geek.

My college of engineering has a mix of cultural and academic activities, mainly cultural. People sit with books only when the exam is only a few days away. Even the top colleges for engineering in my country are like this - mainly the National Institute of Technology and perhaps even the IITs. Every year, we have atleast 3 cultural festivals that we attend. Each department pulls out a fest with their students and related institutes and companies sponsoring the events. I feel we have more fun times than even at school.
