First Impressions last ?

Let us analyze this very popular statement. My interpretation is that what you see and think about a person during initial contact lasts. But for how long ?.How accurate is that statement ?Have you ever made an assessment of someone on initial contact that turned out to be wrong? , maybe you got to know them better ,what then ?,do you still think about them the way you used to when you first met them or do you totally forget about your first impressions. Do you thoroughly stick to your first impressions and get turned off by the person forever or do you get to know them first ? How do you view first impression ? do you believe in first impressions and have you ever made an incorrect first impression ?
