...with Dr. Person at the end of next month for a yearly exam. You check your bank account and you are just not sure if you will be able to afford this year's vet visit. How can you prepare for this, especially with the declining economy?It is always good to, when you are thinking of getting a pet, get your pet a bank account. It does not have to be a literal bank account (although it could be), but some sort of savings storage. Start your "account" off with the basic yearly vet costs- enough for the exam and yearly shots at the local vet clinic. On top of the basic vet care cost, you should add money to it as an "in case of emergency" stash. What if my dog gets stung by a bee? What if my cat jumps from an object that is too high off of the ground and may have broken his foot? The emergency stash will help out with some if not all of these funds depending on how long you have been saving back and/or how much you have been able to add. I hope that this helps.
