I'm afraid you are a bit too utopian. The crisis wasn't created by the people, and is unlikely that the people could make something to end it up. It was created by the International financial system which used virtual money in order to cover the major losses of the U.S. and Western Economies. It is not the people's liquidity that can solve the crisis (the money injections to US economy allready proven this) but the need for many financial institutions (and their associated myriades of directors) to go bankrupt. It is the system that should collapse, for a new, real one to emerge. Injecting money in a bad system is like sending spacecrafts into black holes.

Yeah, pretty much on the nose. ALl these bail outs are doing is changing OWNERSHIP of the bad debts the huge conglomerates stupidly and greedily made. IT is not putting any "revenue" back into anywhere. Instead of the bank having the loan, now the US govt has it, but there is still no money transactions! Money has to be moving to creat an economy. IF everyone is laid off, there is no money being spent so the economy is at a stand still...Kind of like a electric bread machine - turn it on and it'll just roll and roll but it won't make any bread for you to eat until you put the dough in the bucket!

Well maybe we have. Last summer gasoline was at $5.00 a gallon (in my area) so everyone stopped driving and buying gas guzzling cars. We found other means to get to where we needed to go without using as much gas as we used to - simply cause we couldn't afford the gas. Now, gas is down to $1.65 (in my area) and just dropping every day. So we did without because we had to, we accomodated cause we couldn't afford not to, and now that for some odd reason, gas is in abundance again, we found, we didn't really need all that gas, we learned to live on less gas so why change it? WE didn't need those gas gussling cars after all, so they are not being sold. They say that traveling is not going to be a big this holiday season...and it isn't becuase gas is so high. I think people have just figured out they don't need that much and learned to live without it and now, figure, why go back? Why waste my money when I don't have to? I tihnk we did do something about it. Seems to, the car dealers took advanatage of the lower priced gas and created all the big guzzlers and then gas hiked and those big ones aren't selling anymore... they should have just stayed with the energy efficient ones -sorry, I don't seet hat anyone needs a Hummer to skip around town in!

What do you suggest? I have no money to do anything with so if you can come up with something that doesn't cost any money I'll be glad to give it a try. If everyone would stop going out and buying all the junk by the truck loads the economy would adjust it's self. Might be a little rough on us but it will do it. All a recession or depression is, is our economy resetting it's self back to zero. If we try to help it most often we just make it worse. Our economy will adjust about every 10 to 15 years if we will just let it alone and stop trying to prevent it.
