I've had a checking account since I first had a job. I like the advantages it offers me to be able to pay by check. I also like that I have a debit card that is linked to my checking account with a Visa symbol on it. This allows me to use this debit card just like a Visa credit card, only the money comes out of my checking account and not put on credit. For people out of the United States that don't know what a checking account is, you can read more about it here: http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/1043601/the_complete_guide_to_checking_accounts.html?cat=3 Therefore, do you have a checking account? Hey char! Yes, I have a checking account and I have also had one for many many years! But, I don't have a debit card. I don't keep alot of money in my checking account because I'm not working so I can only put in enough money in when I am able to to pay my bills. And I do unfortunately have credit cards that I have to pay off. And I do pay some of my bills with my checking account. In fact, the money that I make here at mylot goes from my PayPal account directly into my checking account to pay some of my bills.

Hi Opal, Yes, I've had a checking account for many years too. We try to keep most of our money in the account because having cash in our pockets makes it too easy to spend. I really like the debit card idea. To me, it's a lot easier than writing a check, but still is not a credit card. Thanks for your response! Char

yes I have a checking account since I was 16 years old, it was a pretty difficult to cash a pay cheque without a checking account and even those cash checking places charge so much money off your pay cheque to cash it.
