Bulletin on buses say....Why Belive in God.....

They have bulletins on buses now that say....Why believe in God....Just be good for goodness sake. I find it appalling! I'm not suppose to say "Merry Christmas" because I may offend someone and it's not politically correct and you can't place a manger scene in the town center in fear of offending someone, but they can put this on buses! I'm all for freedom of speech and having your own beliefs, but not when I'm not aloud to have mine. Besides all that, what are we telling our children! They talk about other negative ads having an effect on our children, what's this one tell them! How do you feel about these ads? Rhonda

I feel, believing God means believing oneself. Every living entity is nothing but a physical expression of the universal consciousness just as every wave rises and falls on the surface of the ocean is an integral and inseparable part of the vast ocean. Every finite life or existence is an inseparable part of the infinite whole. Every one on this earth has the potential to realize God within one's own real "Self" by transcending from his/her ordinary finite level of consciousness to higher level of universal divine consciousness. One need not work hard to discover God outside. God is omnipresent, omniscient and all pervading one and all,all in one. Thanks.

What he just said in a nutshell is that God is God, man is man, and that we see God in whatever form we want to see him in, or the way we see him in. ...don't feel bad I had to think about it also. He also basically made a remark that life happens get over it. I know its cruel...I am sorry, even though I guess his very...english profound vocabulary does tell a great truth?

Not to be rude, but I'm not exactly sure what you just said. Maybe I should go get another cup of coffee and think about this for a little bit...LOL! Rhonda

LOL...Thanks for the interpretation! Well I wasn't too far off as to what I thought they were trying to say. I'm not afraid to say when I don't know something..Guess they just caught me off guard first thing on a Monday morning! LOL! Rhonda

I had not heard of this! This is an outrage. I mean, if they are going to take religion out of everything, even though that is what this country was founded on! Then they by no rights have the power to degrade our religion now! Insult to America! Is this a local item, or national item? If it is national I would be writing to some senators, if it was local I would be informing your mayor or commissioners about this, and considering every item has to go through the education board in your city, make sure you get them sacked!

I totally agree with you! Now they are even trying to take the words, "In God We Trust" off our money! Where does it stop! The buses are in Washington DC...haha, go figure! Rhonda

I really don't believe they will be able to take the words out of money, I mean they would have to pay everyone a killing to gather all of the old bills, because if they didn't people would hang on to them then would make a HUGE profit later in life when they are sought after collectibles. If this is in our national capital this even shows more of the corruptedness of the government, we have freedom of speech I say let's use it! ( already starting to type a report now to a senator:))

You're probably right, it would cost a fortune. Just the fact that they would even consider it upsets me. People think they live in a free country but it's not as free as they think it is! It's time we took back our country and said enough is enough! Rhonda

I'm not surprised. And most likely, no one will say anything about it. This country is turning from God so this is just right up their alley. Guarenteed tho, if it said something pro God, that bus would have been pulled out of commission! I have not heard Merry Christms so far this season, always happy holidays. Tomorrow when I go out, if anyone says Happy Holidays to me I think I will ask them "which holiday are you referring to? I only celebrate one so these others you are "happying" me about - I'd want your name to report you to the management for offending me". Think I'll make it on a bus? LOL!!!

Wow! That's crazy! We have freedom of religion in this country. People can celebrate how they want. Trying to be politically correct about the holiday actually infringes upon the right of Christians. No one is stopping other religions from doing their thing. Freedom of speech is not just having the ability to say what you want. Americans should have some common decency and have respect towards others. I mean. I don't go around cussing people out just because I can. I have some decency not to do that. Luckily nothing like this has happened in my town. We still have the baby Jesus in the park and no one has tried to stop it yet. Usually one guy complains and the town has to remove it.

I am saying: "MERRY CHRISTMAS" and if that offends some petition the government for your own "holiday" - but don't try to hijack ours ! The athiests have been pushing their agenda for years, to remove anything connected with what originates within the Judao / Christian community, and enough is enough! You don't think that they'll get "In God We Trust" removed from our currency ? If we all sit around doing nothing but talking about it, while they proceed with their plans - it COULD happen. How many of us never thought that Prayer and Bible reading would be removed from our schools? Strange how a group that doesn't believe in God or creation, fights so hard to have Him dismissed from society. I find that very interesting. If God doesn't exist - why bother? I say if they want their own holidays, and rulings, - set up their own communities, and have them, but don't try to hijack ours. Yes indeed, the "Anti-Christ Spirit" the Apostle Paul warned us about in the Bible is alive and well on planet earth. MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE

I don't understand why we all just can't get along! LOL! I'm not opposed to another religion putting something up in the center of town...go for it! Just don't make me take down what I believe in! You're right, if we are all going to live together in a society we need to learn to respect each other. That doesn't mean we are always going to agree, but we can agree to show each other a little respect and decency. Rhonda

How terrible!!! Your right, it is appalling. It makes you wonder why so many people celebrate CHRISTmas, when they are so hostile to the center of the holiday. People have the freedom of speech, but that means I also have the right to say, "that's awful!!!".

For me, I celebrate it because I am a Christian and that's what I believe in. Christians have always been prosecuted and always will. The government could ban it and it wouldn't stop me from saying it or celebrating it! Don't ever let anyone take that freedom away from you! Rhonda

becuase that is what our nation was founded under. I am appalled as much as you? but in a way maybe we need to look at the current situation and tell ourselves that is WHY we should believe in god

Yep, the war is in the making! And I think part of it is that people can sue for anything and usually win! So they do the best they can to get "offended" and then sue the offender. Sad that they bring Christmas and other holidays into it!

Hey coffeebreak - - that's very funny and very good about reversing the offensiveness. LOL When someone says: "Happy Holiday(s)" - one does wonder what they are referring to. I'm not celebrating day(s) - but A DAY - - namely Christmas, of course. The reason that there is so much anti-Merry Christmas, is because it is the time we as the Judao / Christian community celebrate the birth of CHRIST, and of course our Jewish friends celebrate Hanukkah, which is basically a celebration of light or goodness triumphing over darkness/evil. Now if you were the devil or any of his cohorts, would you sit idley by, and be quiet about that? So, we can see that the spiritual war of the ages is indeed stepping up its pace, and it's going to get a lot worse in the months and years to come. Time for me to quit, before someone jumps my case about this last statement. The God haters don't like reading things like that. C.C.

ClassyCat...don't worry about what people have to say or think about what you write! The difference is, we have a choice here as to whether we want to read about this subject and what people have to say about it...This fleet of buses gives us no choice! They are in public and we have to read them! bryzyan...You are 100% right! This is why we should believe in God! Now more than ever! We all need to keep our eyes towards the shy! The time is closer than we think! Rhonda

Kuddos to you! I think the cashiers should be able to say what they want. I personally like to hear Merry Christmas, but I don't want them to have to say it just because they are made to say it by their employer. Just like I don't want to have to say Happy Holidays because my government says I should. Rhonda

This is very disappointing. While everyone has the right of freedom of speech, etc, but this is really pushing the envelope. But, I do get their drift. And it is not exactly anti-religion as it seems. Just why do we need a god in order to be good? Why can't we be good for goodness sake? Being good is essential to live in a civilized society. We all need to be good, law-abiding people in order to have society servive, for without it, I believe we would devolve into tribal mentality. Don't get me wrong. I believe in God. I believe He needs to be a part of our lives. But I also do not want a government that gives preference of one religion over another. The Pilgrims of 1620 left England because of the persecution by the Church of England - a Christian Church preferred by the King of England. Worshipping God in any other 'fashion' was illegal. I believe this is the source of our freedom of religion in this country. Unfortunately, there are those who think that it also means freedom from religion.

Yes it is indeed sad. This attack on God has been really intensifying and gets hotter during the Christmas season. Funny is that if it weren't for God and you take Jesus out of the equation, there wouldn't be a Christmas. This will be just one cold dark month.
