do you believe that dreams have "real world" meaning?

i think everyone has at least once experienced dreaming while they slept. there a lot of people who say that these dreams actually translates to something in the "real world". a story about a dreamer/dream translator (joseph) is even mentioned in the bible. do you actually believe the subconscious scenes we experience while we are in our supposedly inactive resting state translate to anything substantial in the real world we live in?

hmmmm... that's a very interesting point of view you have there. maybe dreams are just mirrors or windows to another world or dimension. very interesting indeed. thanks for the response.

Yes, I do believe that sometimes a dream does have meaning in the real world. At least my dreams do. And sometimes I will "meet" with some one whom I do not know yet. Several months later, I will recognize that some one a few weeks after I had met them. I really wish I could remember more about my dreams, sometimes I can, but not always. Guess I need to train myself more to try and remember.

According to Freud's Psychodynamic theory, the dream is a the unconscious representation of the real world issues. Based on his theory, he developed the dream interpretation where based on what has the descriptions of the patient's dreams, he deduce what they actually mean in the real world. He suggest that as the unconscious self does not suppress feelings and thoughts, what you dream of is likely to explain some problems one has developed but couldn't explain why when in a conscious state. Please read the Freudian's Psychodynamic or Psychoanalytic theory for more details.
