hi there sumitmeghani! in my case, i have to say that i am guilty of spending more money when i see the "sale" word. temptation is too much during these times because everything becomes cheap (or much more tolerable price). it makes you feel confident that you won't go over the budget since that $50.00 shirt is now $30.00. unfortunately, my being overconfident that i can save more if i buy a lot during sale season results in me spending too much (especially with my ever-so-betraying credit card. LOL). instead of just planning to buy that $30.00 shirt, for example, i buy so many other goodies that i end up spending up to $200.00! but, starting this Christmas season (and ironically, thank goodness for the US and global economic recessions), i'll be forced to be strict on my budget. we won't know what will happen if the recession lasts longer than expected, or if recession becomes depression. not even the "sale" temptation can get me by then. hehe. but on the brighter side, just concentrating on financial prudence and "Do you need it? Or just want it?" mentality will help me spend just a right amount, so that i can really maximise shopping during sale season. thank you and more power to you! =)

sales promotion is a marketing startegy often used by marketers the free tag or sales tag surely catches the eye and i am no exception well the sales promotion definately have made me buy...who will not but a nike shoe at 50% sale and a reebok 3 pair t shirt at the price of 2 although these sales are due to different reasons and strategy adopted by marketers and people do get attracted

I dont go by that always, but matter of fact I do get slightly deflected due to all the marketing techniques they use. Most of the time I go for product which is of good quality let price be the second concern and over the time i have developed kinda brand equity.
