People lie. About many things. There are good lies and bad lies. Probably each of us have lied in our lives. To hide something, to protect somebody, to avoid the responsibility. So the question is: HOW TO DETECT A LIAR? What are the most common techniques and movements, expressions and acts that a LIAR makes?

Nelson Muntz - Nelson is one of the key bad kids in the Simpsons - but he does not lie ALL of the time.
Generally a liar gives away that they are lying by their body language. Liars find it difficult to make eye contact or to stand still when lying. They may also start sweating, scratch their nose or mouth or make some other unconscious gesture. However, accomplished liars may be able to overcome these obvious movements. If they have children, then you can get some idea as to their real personality by looking at their children. Children find it harder to hide their real personality and particularly younger children will reflect their parents personality more accurately - at least that of the main parent in their lives. If you cannot work it out from body language or cannot see them face to face, then liars usually will forget their lies - the truth is easier to remember. Hence the liar will giver themselves away over time by telling a different story in answer to the same question when asked many weeks apart. If they are entirely and always consistent, then they are less likely to be lying. Plus how believeable is the statement? Is it likely or unlikely? Try and have an open mind until you are sure about someone. However, people who lie occasionally may still be telling the truth in connection with something else - I hope that helps.

Yes, it surely helped a lot. "The truth is easier to remember" and "Ask the same question week later", interesting. But I never thought that You can detect a LIAR by watching their children carefully, that they tend to lie as much as their parents do (!). Seriously? Gaved even a "+" to Your answer. Let`s wait for other answers to appear, so the Best Answer is still up to come SOON. ;)

If you suspect someone of lieing about something, ask them as many questions as you can,try to get details, there will always be something that they cant answer because they are lieing!

when i'm trying to lie my mother discover the lie immediately...because i don't know to lie...from the childhood my mother told me: "No lie, the lie has short legs"(this is a Romanian proverb)...Means that the truth appear even if i try to hide it... The romanian language teacher told us that it's easy to detect a liar because his face color is changing in red... he scratch on his nose... or he lead the hand at the ears... i don't know if it is true but it is a posibility...

If the person close to you, you notice a new attitude, csn't look in you directly and always avoiding you, but if not its hard to find out if he/she lies or not....if you can take another opinion or can check the things if he/she really tell the truth...
